2nd March 2015 - Gwent League Statement

AVAAC would like to clarify that the decision to cancel the Dare Valley Park Gwent League Cross Country meeting was made unilaterally by the race referee on the basis that sections of the course were deemed unsafe due to the bad weather conditions over the preceding days. This is not an opinion shared by the club nor most of the runners who were looking forward to a tough and challenging course, but the referee's decision is final. The club would like to personally thank Jeremy Horton who was the driving force and put in a tremendous amount of time and effort in planning and setting up the meeting. Thanks also goes to the Dare Valley Country Park and its manager Wayne Jones for their co-operation and support. The Gwent Cross Country League statement on this cancellation is available at http://www.gwent-league.org.uk/
